So I've been having a feeling that patterned blouses are going to be a big thing this summer. They're being promoted on leading retail stores' websites and I've spotted the trend when I'm out on my rounds. Usually I steer away from blouses as I wore them for my sixth form/college everyday and I just got bored of it really quickly. But they are beautiful and I'd forgotten how nice they look on so I've been scouring a few places in search of my top five favourites.
I've included all styles to suit different tastes and I've varied the price range depending on whether you're a steal or splurge kind of shopper. Happy hunting!
Boohoo £18
This heart print blouse is so on trend this season! I can't count how many blog posts I've read about this new print. I love the fun and flirty style boohoo have used with this over-sized blouse. I personally love loose fitting tops at the moment so this is perfect! It's also a handy number to pull out your wardrobe when you're bloated. I wear these tops at BBQs because I'm always at the buffet table and a good oversized top hides the evidence of my pig out very stylishly. It's a win win!
Oasis £30
I love how cute this blouse is! And the sheer sleeves dress it up so nicely. The subtle pleating just beneath the collar means the material will fall beautifully making it very flattering for all shapes and sizes. Don't limit this blouse to wear for meals out or drinks with the girls, it will look just as great dressed down for a more casual look.
Miss Selfridge £29
I love the daisy print that I've seen floating around recently. It's not as powerful or bold as the big colour floral prints we're used to seeing in stores but it still manages to stand out and make a statement. Because it's cropped as well it makes it more edgy and with some high waisted shorts or trousers this look would kill.
Coast £55
This is called the Aphrodite blouse and I can't stop looking at it! It's more on the pricier side but the sunset themed colours combined with the silhouettes of palm leaves make me second guess myself for not throwing it in my shopping cart the second I saw it. And I won't lie and say that the name of the blouse didn't draw me to it in the first place! (maybe it's just me but the names of clothes make me like them more)
Topshop £36
Purple is so in this spring! YAY! It's my favourite colour and this is the purple top I've been loving the most so far. It looks fairly simple but it has wrap-over styling at the back and it's also very sheer. I love sheer fabric I think it's so complimentary and I'm milking this trend for as long as I can!
As a note on how to wear this upcoming trend, it is more of a chic than a 'dressed down' approach that is being taken. So think tailored skirts and trousers or jeans with a killer blazer. I will be following up this post with my picks this season so you can see how I'm styling them!
